A few weeks ago I went through a list of animes I would watch at some point, mostly because my favorite anime of all time is taking a break and won't be releasing new episodes for awhile. I put a lot of animes, old and new, into my queue and saved them for later. This past weekend I finally got around to watching one of those: The Devil is a Part-timer!
I don't believe I have found an anime that has a title that describes the show so simply and completely. Go on, guess what it's about. If you guessed it's about Satan working a part-time job, you're right! That really is only half the story though...the less action, more comedy half. The first ten minutes or so shows off the more action, less comedy half of the show which shows up against a few episodes into the series.
I think I should clear this matter up a little bit more. See in this anime there are two dimensions. One, called Ente Isla, is a land filled with magic, demons, knights, and so on. The other dimension, known as Earth, does not believe in such things. Satan, the main character, is the Demon King from Ente Isla who invades the lands of humans hoping to find a home for his subjects. A human hero rises up wielding a divine sword to oppose him, and a bloody war ensues.
The hero and Satan fight each other in the Demon King's castle where an epic battle is taking place. I can't tell you enough of how epic all of the spells look when the demons and humans are fighting. The fight between Satan and the hero is your typical demon/knight fight, but all of the battle sequences before that are what will really catch your eye.
The fight ends with Satan and his trusted general Alciel fleeing Ente Isla through a portal. They arrive on Earth and lose their demon forms, taking on the appearance of humans. This made me believe that all of the action for the anime was over, but trust me, the action isn't over by a long shot.
Anyway, to make a long story short, Satan and Alciel cannot return home due to the extremely low amount of magical power present on Earth. They decide to remain in our world until they can find a way back, but they quickly learn living in our world means you have to have money. Satan takes a job at MgRonald's (yeah, that's right) while Alciel is tasked with finding out information that could help them.
The end of the first episode has a rather good twist which I would rather not spoil, considering everything else I've told you about. You will probably be a little skeptical when it comes to Satan's character though because the anime tries to show that he has a good side, but later on in the series it's apparent that he might never have been "evil" to begin with. He seems to have a deeper story than just simply being the Demon King, and that has intrigued me.
Overall this is an excellent anime with good comedy, romance, action, and even dialogue. I highly recommend it to anyone seriously into anime.

Introduction
Introduction
"Who are you? Why do you think you can tell me which anime I should watch, or which I shouldn't? What gives you that right?" That's probably what you're thinking right now, right? Well have no fear! I have an answer for your questions.
First off, I don't have the right to tell what to watch and what to ignore. This is all in my opinion and I hope those reading this can learn to respect that. I've decided to start this blog mostly because of the endless arguing I see on sites like Youtube with people claiming one anime is better than the other. Most of the time it is people attacking my opinion and making me feel like I must defend myself. For example, I cannot hope to tell them every single reason I hate the Naruto series in just a few comments on a Youtube video. So I decided to break free from Youtube and come here, to make my opinions known far and wide! Also this is my first blog of many. I will also probably do a watch list of movies, a play list of games, and other similar blogs.
Now that that's cleared up, I can tell you the true purpose behind this blog. Sometimes there are animes, new or old, that just do not get the attention I think they deserve. Some of those include classics like "Blue Exorcist", "Fairy Tail", "Spice and Wolf", "Soul Eater", and so on. I will try my best to not include any spoilers in my blog, but if I do I will be sure to include a warning. This may be necessary when doing something like comparing Naruto to Fairy Tail (which I intend to do after a few other posts).
Well I guess that's it for the introduction. I hope this list helps you all find animes you will enjoy. Also, please do leave your hate and trolling at the door. If you don't like my opinion on stuff, then don't read my blog. It's that simple.
